American Society of Picture Professionals (ASPP) welcomes new Designer to the production team.
New York, NY – July 14, 2014 — The American Society of Picture Professionals (ASPP) second 2014 issue of THE PICTURE PROFESSIONAL magazine (TPP) shines a spotlight on photographers Lucia Loiso and Christopher Dilts, navigating the waters of self publishing with Dennis Brack, and how Pauline Frommer is reinventing her family’s travel guides.
This new issue also introduces our readership to a new art director, Mariana Ochs. When previous AD Ophelia Chong announced she would be leaving the post for the exciting role of art director at Earnest Sewn, it was clear the search would be tough. “What an incredible journey it has been with The Picture Professional, from discovering new talent to being a part of a stalwart and dedicated group of photography professionals (and aficionados). The education I received from my co-workers Niki Barrie, Michael Masterson, Jain Lemos, April Wolfe and Ellen Herbert was equivalent to a four-year degree in photography. As the art direction passes on to Mariana, I know she will enjoy and learn as much as I did from this marvelous group of people. I look forward to seeing the new photography coming out, only now I will wait in anticipation by my mailbox.”
Finding Mariana has proven to be the coup needed to make a seamless transition. Based in Rio de Janeiro, she has launched, art directed and redesigned magazines and newspapers around the globe, from Hong Kong to New York to Warsaw. TPP Editor April Wolf welcomes working with her: “Mariana’s not afraid to dig into design and build a new foundation. It’s the next and natural step in our rebranding, which was beautifully re-imagined by Ophelia throughout the past three years. So we have a solid basis, but we’re looking forward to Mariana tightening the strings.”
