Topic: Strategies for Protecting Copyright in the Digital Age – Tangible Tips in a Virtual World
Copyright related to the photo industry is in a state of evolution. Changes in image licensing and
distribution have the potential to radically alter both business processes and expand or limit the
profitability of your intellectual property. Utilization of available technologies can help your ability
to effectively manage intellectual property, but not without a clear understanding of the underlying
laws that protect both artists and end users.
Questions Our Panel of experts will address:
For photo buyers:
- How do you ensure that you have the rights you need for the projects you produce?
- What steps can you take to protect your—and your client’s—interest when using digital media?
- How do you engage with your audience though digital channels – social, web, mobile– without
compromising the value of your work?
- How do you monitor your copyrighted works online and monetize your intellectual property
If you aren’t paying attention, you’ll be left behind. In this workshop, we will draw upon the expertise
of a stock photography legal veteran, an intellectual property attorney, and an image licensing
professional amongst other experts to help answer your questions and ensure that your work is safe.
Jennifer Hurley, Associate General Counsel, Corbis Corporation
